MHEC

The Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) is a nonprofit purchasing consortium established in 1976 to provide and manage contracts for goods and services using group buying best practices for its member institutions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Membership includes 47 private colleges and universities, and all public institutions of higher learning including fifteen community colleges, nine state colleges, and the five campuses of the University system. In addition, membership is extended to nine administrative office consortia, five entities of the state college system, four entities of the UMass system, The Museum of Fine Arts, WGBH public television, The Massachusetts Trial Courts, and Elderhostel.
Direct Network Services is proud to be a vendor on the MHEC contract and we look forward to serving the wireless needs of MHEC members. We sell our wireless products and services under contract number F05 – Computers, Peripherals,Telecommunications, Asset Recovery, Enhancements – Rental/Lease/Maintenance.
Direct Network Services has been awarded a contract under ITS23, Category 1, Technical Specialists. The purpose of this contract is to provide State agencies with information technology professional services, including:
Wireless network consulting
RF and Network Engineering for WLAN design, frequency planning and antenna design, and integration of the wireless system into the wired infrastructure
Spectrum analysis to help the customer to understand the RF environment and identify potential sources of interference before a system is installed
Site survey and installation services for WLANs and building to building systems. Includes verification of line of sight, antenna mounting and cabling requirements, and the creation of a site diagram
Leasing and Short Term Rentals of wireless systems.
