Direct Network Services receives supplier excellence award

Direct Network Services Inc. was recognized for its quality and performance by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. DNS received a Supplier Excellence Award at a recognition ceremony held at the Wyndham hotel in Andover, Mass.

Raytheon recognizes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement.

“Our wireless products and services will provide Raytheon with an unprecedented level of technological capability in support of the mission of our service men and women,” said Direct Network Services’ President Michael Duhigg. “Ultimately, these products and services will help protect the brave men and women of the United States Military involved with the RAID program. The introduction of RAID into U.S. Marine Corps operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom is a testament to the value these systems provide to the war fighter," said Pete Franklin, vice president, National & Theater Security Programs for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. "These additional systems will offer the U.S. Marine Corps the same lifesaving persistent surveillance support currently benefiting the U.S. Army."

Raytheon first developed RAID to meet the military's increasingly critical need for persistent surveillance in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. RAID consists of infrared sensor systems elevated on a stationary platform capable of detecting hostile troop and equipment movement at great distances. This capability enables U.S. and coalition forces to respond rapidly to threatening situations.

Direct Network Services’ role in the RAID program dates back to 2007. DNS provided the wireless systems that enabled communication capability between various RAID locations. This work included configuring the systems to meet Raytheon’s specifications and testing the systems prior to delivery.

Direct Network Services is dedicated to success of our customers through the use of highest quality wireless products and services. Since 1998, the company has provided point to point, point to multipoint,. WLANs and a broad range of services to its wireless customers.

“I have worked with the DNS technical team on projects for every branch of the military and have great respect for them. Their RF engineers are some of the best in the country. They want me to be successful, and they always help me to be successful.”
